The Honourable Dean Dent MLA

Dean Dent was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Stanley constituency in December 2025. This is his first term as an MLA.

Dean holds the Public Infrastructure portfolio and is Deputy for Education and Community.

Born in the Falkland Islands, Dean studied government and politics in the UK before completing a degree in linguistics.

Dean spent his career in the construction industry, working his way from general labourer to civil site engineer. He has worked both in the Falkland Islands and abroad, gaining broad experience across the sector. This background has given him a strong interest in the capital works programme of the Falkland Islands, which falls within his portfolio responsibilities.
